Kitwave celebrates AIM listing anniversary success

It’s been one year since the successful admission of Kitwave Group PLC to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and wow, what a journey!

The Group started with humble beginnings back in 1987, which saw our business founded as a single-site wholesaler specialising in confectionery. Now, in 2022, we’re celebrating one year since going public with a fantastic future ahead of us.… 

We’ve built a strong, passionate team with over 1,150 colleagues and our fleet of 430 vehicles delivering up and down the country provides a quality service to our over 39,000 customers. 

We’ve also acquired M.J Baker Foodservice Limited, the West Country’s leading independent food service supplier – marking a huge milestone that expands our foodservice offering and customer network. 

We continue to build a team that has strength in depth at all levels.  At the time of admission Stephen (“Steve”) Smith stayed on as Independent Non-executive Chairman, while Gerard Murray stepped into a role as Independent Non-executive Director. Most recently, we welcomed Ben Maxted to the Board as Chief Operating Officer – bringing his commercial and operational expertise to the Board. 

To support our growth aspirations, we have also opened a new distribution site in Wakefield, giving us 65,000 sq ft of distribution space so we can better support our customers throughout the UK and integrate with our Leeds depot. 

Paul, our Chief Executive Officer, shared a few thoughts on the business’s recent success in what has been a changeable landscape. “Looking back on Kitwave’s admission to AIM, I’m so proud of the team that helped drive this business forward to what was ultimately a culmination of three decades’ of passion and operational excellence.

After our admission, we’ve been able to welcome new investors and new members of the team. All of this growth has been managed in a way meant to share our success with our customers by reinvesting in our ability to source, supply and service over 39,000 businesses across the UK.”
